Adelaide container terminal orders straddle carriers from Kony group

Feb 22, 2022

Adelaide container terminal (fact), located in Flinders port in southern Australia, once again ordered three koninor container straddle vehicles from Kony group to upgrade its existing fleet of 22 straddle vehicles to reach the advanced technical level. The order was signed in the second quarter of 2021 and the equipment will be delivered in March 2022.

In 2003, Kony group delivered three Noel straddle carriers to Adelaide container terminal, which is the first batch of oil electric hybrid straddle carriers delivered by Kony group to the terminal. The newly ordered three straddle carriers will replace the previous batch of straddle carriers.

The three new straddle vehicles meet the class V exhaust emission standard and adopt the advanced improvement technology of Kony group in cabin ergonomics and operator vision. With koninor straddle carrier, the average annual handling capacity of Flinders port can reach 450000 TEU.

Shane Haywood, an inventory management expert at Flinders Port Holdings, said: "we have been using koninor straddle trucks for 20 years. They have good performance and strong maintainability, and Kony's local service is also great. We are very satisfied with this. The new straddle trucks we ordered have good environmental benefits and advanced product performance."
